Brief review of Matt Reed's "Confessions of a Community

It requires a certain humility, along with a serious sense of a larger purpose. In fact, this book is probably best for new administrators, as much of the content is probably all too well-known to those of us who have long practiced our arcane craft. Total Competition By working as a dean and a faculty member for many years at a for-profit institution and a community college, Reed was not only able to speak to the challenges of being an upper-level administrator, but also was able to provide practical solutions to effectively address some of those challenges.My own view has long been that the job of leadership is creating the environment within which people can do their best work, given the constraints at hand.
